About Crissy HK
Crissy HK is the professional portfolio of Crissy Hines-Kaan, a multi-disciplinary British artist, designer, and creative director based between the UK and Malaga, Spain.
A lifelong artist who has been painting since childhood, Crissy’s work is a dynamic exploration of form, texture, and transformation. Her extensive portfolio, comprising hundreds of pieces, pushes beyond traditional boundaries to create a dialogue between found materials and fine art. This is a world where the discarded is reborn, and everyday objects are given a new, compelling voice.
“For me, art is therapy. I love creating things from nothing and I’m always looking for unique and different objects on the beach to create things. Even in my paintings, I love using mixed media—from coffee beans to lace, to thread, to gems, to crinkled paper—to get the texture and bring the painting to life.”

From the Shore to the Studio: An Alchemy of the Overlooked
Crissy’s artistic process often begins on the shores of Malaga, where she walks not just as an observer, but as a collector of stories. Here, the sea gifts her the raw materials for her work: weathered driftwood, sea-smoothed glass, and a democratic array of forgotten objects, from natural shells to discarded plastic toys.
Back in the studio, an alchemical process begins. These found objects are not merely assembled; they are given a second life. Through meticulous painting, arrangement, and sometimes the application of precious materials like gold leaf, Crissy reveals the inherent beauty and hidden narrative within each piece, transforming the overlooked into objects of wonder.

Beyond the Canvas: A Symphony of Texture
Crissy’s lifelong passion for painting is defined by a fearless use of vibrant color and a deep exploration of texture. Her canvases are not flat surfaces; they are three-dimensional landscapes brought to life with a rich symphony of mixed media.
Embracing a philosophy of tactile creation, she incorporates unconventional materials directly into her paintings. Coffee beans, delicate lace, thread, shimmering gems, and crinkled paper are all part of her artistic language. This innovative use of mixed media gives her abstract and figurative works a unique depth and physicality, inviting the viewer not just to see the painting, but to feel its energy.
The Creative Ecosystem
Beyond her personal art practice, Crissy applies her unique creative vision as a hands-on director and founder. As the Creative Director for Mystery Records and Executive Producer for artists like Ronzoni Hines, she sculpts the atmospheric “vibe” of cinematic music videos. She is also the founder of the BGRTW (Bad Girls Rule The World) brand, an empowerment-focused venture born from the ethos of a song.
